《電火王》King of Light2018

美秀集團，來自嘉義的低科技俗氣樂隊，將自製實驗樂器融合搖滾、民謠、龐克、電子實驗音樂等元素，煉取土地中獨有的文化風貌，從新舊世代的碰撞中激發想像與創造，尋找屬於土地的新世代美學。是一個涵括音樂、裝置、設計、影像、現場展演的全方位創作計畫。

《電火王》是美秀集團的第一張專輯，集結了美秀成軍兩年來的精華，開場〈Intro〉以自製樂器 solo，宣告電火王隔空出世，緊接的主打歌〈電火王〉則道出本專輯最核心的 maker 精神。專輯前六首曲目皆為台語創作，透過不同面向還原美秀心中對自身文化的想像；銜接在後的〈米兒〉、〈小老婆〉、〈擋一根〉則透過直白的話語、激昂的唱腔，講述電火王在愛情途中最真實的情慾和深層的懊悔，完整了電火王的人生故事。

本專輯由董事長樂團吳永吉與超新星製作人 Dennis 共同製作，由兩個不同世代的觀點對談，激盪出音樂多元的樣貌，曲風一舉囊括搖滾、龐克、民謠、電子、實驗、舞曲、饒舌等眾多元素，一如美秀的集團精神「毫無侷限的創造」，只要嗅到有趣，就要透過美秀的雙手實驗！只要秉持著創作者的信仰，電火王就與你同在。

Amazing Show is a low-tech, kitschy band from Chiayi, Taiwan. Combining homemade experimental instruments with rock, folk, punk, and experimental electronic music, the band distills the distinctive character of its homeland’s culture. Through the collision of old and new generations, they spark imagination and creativity in search of a new aesthetic rooted in the land. Amazing Show is an all-encompassing creative project spanning music, installation art, design, video, and live performance.

King of Light is Amazing Show’s debut album, bringing together the highlights of the band’s first two years. The opening track, “Intro,” announces the arrival of the King of Light with a solo on a homemade instrument, followed by the title track, “King of Light,” which expresses the maker spirit at the heart of the album. The first six tracks feature Taiwanese-language songwriting, exploring the band’s vision of its own culture from different perspectives. The songs that follow—“Mia,” “Little Bitch,” and “Chill Out”—use direct lyrics and impassioned vocals to reveal the raw desire and profound regret of the King of Light’s romantic journey, completing his life story.

The album was co-produced by Wu Yung-chi of The Chairman and producer Dennis. A dialogue between two generations gives rise to a diverse musical palette encompassing rock, punk, folk, electronic, experimental, dance, and rap. It embodies Amazing Show’s collective spirit of “creation without limits”: whenever something sparks their curiosity, they put it to the test with their own hands. As long as you hold fast to your faith as a creator, the King of Light is with you.
